So a day after a wrote my letter to NewsStand I got a reply in my inbox which I have to admit was much faster than I expected!
Here’s what NewsStand had to say:
Dear Mr. Banks,
Thank you for contacting NewsStand's Customer Support and for providing your feedback. Currently our developers are working on a version of the software that will replace the NewsStand Reader. Unfortunately at this point in time we do not have a release date for this software. Until then, I will be sure to forward your comments on to our development staff for consideration.

So it looks like something new is on the way although I’m a bit disappointed that they can’t tell me a release date quite yet or any details on what can be expected in the update although it kinda sounds like it might be a big release since she said they’re going to “replace” the Reader.
